It is my privilege to nominate RENEE MENDONCA an exceptional youth leader, difference maker and humanitarian who is making a gigantic impact WORLDWIDE due to her ANTI VAPING CAMPAIGN.
The death of her beloved Grandpa to Pulmonary Fibrosis left her devastated. He was a chain smoker from the age of 14. She watched her beloved grandpa die right before her eyes. They could not afford a lung transplant or an oxygen ventilator. From that day onwards, she vowed to save young lives caught in the web of addictions.
Renee Mendonca can be described as a TEENAGER who has wisdom beyond her years and a heart of gold. She decided to turn her WOUNDS INTO WISDOM and be a RAINBOW in the lives of addicts by Co-Founding WINGS OF HOPE at the age of 10 along with her twin sister.
Every Sunday she sacrificed her playtime to visit youth in juvenile and destitute homes.Many of the youth were inspired to give up addictions after listening to this young hero.
Renee interviewed 1000 vaping addicts to study the vaping trends of youth. She found 90% of high school students use JUUL as a first choice product.
When Renee was surfing the internet, she came across an advertisement by E-CIGARETTE COMPANY JUUL on Social Media “SAVE ROOM FOR TASTY TREATS AND REWARDS” .
She wrote a strong letter to E-CIGARETTE COMPANY JUUL protesting against the misleading advertisements targeting teenagers. She also said in her letter that they have exploited social media like Instagram, Facebook and Youtube to target underage teenagers where high school students live and were using memes such as cartoons to entice teenagers. Besides they were using YOUTH appealing flavors such as COTTON CANDY, GUMMY BEARS, to hook teenagers to nicotine.
Due to her efforts, E-CIGARETTE COMPANY JUUL withdrew all its SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING CAMPAIGNS and FLAVOURED E-CIGARETTES targeted towards youth.
RENEE had created a powerful impact and was instrumental in saving the lives of youth addicted to VAPING.
WINGS OF HOPE helps youth addicted to VAPING. Wherein the youth can write a SECRET LETTER and share the trauma they are facing and ask for help through their Instagram Page @wings_ofhope and Email [email protected].
Till date WINGS OF HOPE has helped 1,50,000 youth from 100 nations.
She spends 2 hours daily responding to SECRET LETTERS she receives from VAPING ADDICTS GLOBALLY. Her advice is very practical and easy to follow. 50% of vaping addicts have decided to QUIT VAPING.
