For over 60 years Ray has nourished, recorded and promoted the Italo-Canadian Community of Vancouver and BC through his many published books, offices held and acts of public advocacy. Some of his books about the social history of Vancouver's Italian Community include volumes I, II and III of "Vancouver's Society of Italians", "Vancouver's Shoeshine Boys" and "Injustice Served: The Story of BC's Italian Aliens During World War II". He has written many articles on the events in Vancouver's Italian Community in the Vancouver Sun, Vancouver Province, Il Marco Polo and L'Eco d'Italia and various other publications. In 2005 he was acknowledged as the Italian Canadian of the year by the Confratellanza Italo-Canadese Society. We strongly feel Ray Culos would be a most worthy recipient of the "Awesome Award", as he is truly an awesome man!
