I would like to nominate Dr. Farshadfar for the Awesome Award. Maryam Farshadfar is a pianist, scholar, and music educator who has dedicated her life in preserving and disseminating the art of Persian piano. A practice that was common during the late 19th and early 20th c. in Iran. Her PhD dissertation is an original contribution in this field that has been published online. She has performed in solo and group concerts in Europe, America, and her motherland Iran.
She is currently working on an album to record some original pieces from western composers who were inspired by the Persian music and culture. I'm hoping that this award will help her towards that goal.
