When my husband went to prison, my mother in law paid for my daughter and me to travel from Louisiana to Connecticut so we could be near my husband. She has stood by us as we (my husband, daughter, and I) struggle to stay together as a family while he serves a long term sentence. She has helped us in every way but especially financially since I lost my job seven years ago. Recently when my car needed repairs she paid $900 to get it repaired when she has been struggling herself since her house caught fire this summer and there is still a lot of waiting before the insurance people start paying her what they promised. She basically takes care of herself, her husband, my daughter, and me on the salary she makes as a job coach.
